DJ Tocom Rubber Settles Higher; Backwardation on Tight Supply -- Market Talk Tocom rubber futures settle higher in slow trade amid the lack of strong cues and as many trade participants are attending an industry event in Qingdao. Prices are in the backwardation pattern, indication tight spot supply, however market sentiment is weak amid high stockpiles in China, Japan and as March preliminary manufacturing activity in China slows, say traders. The previous benchmark August rubber settles Y0.8 higher at Y237.9/kg. The new September Tocom rubber contract opened at Y238.4/kg and was last at Y237.6/kg. (
